Alfa Romeo Spiders and I have a long history, almost back to the start. My first car was a 1968 Volkswagen Beetle, bought as a fixer-upper with the engine in a box on the back seat, but the first proper classic that actually drove when I purchased it was a 1972 Alfa Kammtail Spider. It was the early 1990s, and I couldn’t afford one of the new Series 4 Spiders with their electric windows and leather seats, so I found an old one, a car that would eventually turn into a classic.
