In October 1957, Alfa Romeo revealed an extraordinary machine at the Turin Motor Show. The Sprint Speciale was the creation of Franco Scaglione, who had styled the remarkable B.A.T. (Berlinetta Aerodinamica Tecnica) concept cars for Alfa over the previous few years, and the route between those and the new production car was unambiguous.
